About Foundation Systems Engineering
Foundation Systems Engineering (FSE) provides geotechnical, environmental, and geostructural engineering services throughout the Southeast. Our Construction Special Inspections and Construction Materials Testing division is rapidly growing. We are seeking a Reporting Specialist to support our Johnson City, Tennessee office. This role focuses on reviewing and organizing project documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.
This position is a full-time role located at our Johnson City office, working closely with engineering technicians, engineers-in-training, and professional engineers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Review daily field reports for accuracy and completeness
- Verify that photos, drawings, and maps are included and properly labeled
- Edit and organize information into final report packages
- Follow up with staff to clarify notes or track down missing details
- Keep records organized and ensure reports are delivered on schedule
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong writing and editing skills with close attention to detail
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Comfortable reading and understanding technical notes, drawings, and maps
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PDF tools
- Clear and professional communication skills in person, on the phone, and over email
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have
- Experience in an engineering, construction, or technical setting
- Familiarity with field reports, testing, or inspection work
- Understanding of basic engineering or construction terminology
